How much does tar surfacing or asphalt paving cost?

It depends on the size of the area, the condition of the existing surface, how much base prep is needed and access for plant. We don't quote off photos because that's how you get nasty surprises later. A free site visit + written quote is the only honest way to give a price — usually back to you within a few working days.

How long does a properly laid tar surface last?

A well-prepared tar or asphalt surface, on the right base, will give you 10–20+ years of service depending on traffic load, drainage and how it's maintained. Most failures we get called to actually started as base or drainage problems — which is why we don't skip prep.

Do you handle small domestic driveways or only big jobs?

Yes — domestic driveways are a normal part of what we quote. We handle home driveways, townhouse complexes, estate roads, business park yards and full road construction. Smaller residential jobs get the same civil-engineering-led method as the larger contracts.

What's included in your written quote?

Site visit findings, recommended scope, area and thickness, base prep, asphalt or tar wearing course, compaction, edge treatment, line-painting if needed, timeline and total price — line-itemed so you can compare quotes properly.

How long does a site visit take and is it really free?

Most site visits take 20–40 minutes depending on the size of the surface. There's no fee and no obligation — if our quote isn't the right fit for your job, you walk away with a clear assessment and we're still on good terms.

Will rain or Highveld weather affect when you can lay tar?

Hot-mix asphalt and tar need a dry, prepared surface to bond properly. We work around the weather — if rain is coming in we'll reschedule the lay-and-compact day rather than rush it and leave you with a surface that fails early. Site prep can usually continue regardless.
